Sublimation on Wood
We use the multimedia approach in creating this product which includes photography, digital painting, and hand painting as touch up. The image of the finished design is transferred onto artistic grade birch plywood using sublimation on wood

Sublimation on wood refers to a process in which a design or image is transferred onto a specially-coated wood surface using heat and pressure. The design is first printed onto a transfer paper using special sublimation inks, and then the transfer paper is placed face-down onto the wood surface. Heat and pressure are applied using a heat press machine, causing the ink to turn into a gas and bond with the coating on the wood surface, resulting in a permanent, full-color image.

The process can produce high-quality, detailed images with vivid colors, and the finished product is durable and long-lasting. The type of wood used for sublimation may vary, but popular choices include birch, maple, and cherry.
